Well.. something is better than nothing!

Required in 2001, RFP ( Request For Proposal) in 2004, and finally choosing two finalists in 2011, India's MMRCA deal has been a long and tedious process for both the vendors and the buyer!
The final report and name of the winner of MMRCA deal was to be given out in mid 2011 but was pushed back to November and then again to December 2011. But, it comes as no shock that the much awaited results have not been announced yet!
The wait is not over yet..
Nevertheless, we dont have sufficient fighters but what we do have is the highly advanced missile systems from French market!
India has cleared a Rs. 6600 Crore deal with the french for the Mirage 2000 H fighters which are presently being upgraded to the level of Mirage 2000-5 in France and India.
The deal for "Fire and Forget" (MICA) missiles was signed on January 4th.
Also in news, the deal for 75 Swiss Pilatus-PC-7  basic trainer jets will be inked very soon and if lucky, we might just know which out of Eurofighter Typhoon and Dassault Rafale will rule Indian sky  for the next atleast 3 decades, by the end of January!
Till then,
